ATHLETIC FEE POLICY
for Arlington High School
Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity Interscholastic Athletics
2008-2009

Overview
The Athletic Fee for the 2008-2009 school year has been established by the School Committee and Superintendent’s Office. Students participating in the Interscholastic Athletic Program at Arlington High School are required to pay this Participation Fee. The payment of a fee does not provide a student with any special consideration or entitlement with respect to playing time. Rather, fees collected in this manner are designed to help defray the operational costs of the Arlington High School Athletic Budget.

Fee
$235. – 1st sport plus adder for more/most expensive programs
$185. – 2nd sport plus adder for more/most expensive programs

$40. added for more expensive sports which includes:
Soccer/Golf/Wrestling/Swimming/Field Hockey

$80. added for most expensive sports which includes:
Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Softball, Basketball, Baseball, Football

Athletic Fees may be waived or reduced if a family is experiencing circumstances that impact their ability to pay. In such cases, parents should submit documentation to support their request to the Athletic Director.

Maximum Fee
No family will be required to pay more than $850.00 in annual fees for athletics or music or combinations of both.

Collection Process
The Athletic Director in conjunction with designated staff will collect the activity fee prior to the time of Spring Try-Outs..Students who do not make a team will have their check returned.
