The following resources are listed by the Ottoson Middle School Library Media Center for teachers and students to use in the Media Center, in the classroom, and from home.
Please use them regularly, as an alternative to the world wide web, as they provide safe, accurate and middle school curriculum-related information. Some have special teacher features including lesson plans aligned with national standards and rubrics for grading.

Grolier Online Encyclopedia subscription includes the Multimedia Encyclopedia, Lands and Peoples and Book of Popular Science. Articles may be emailed to student's homes from school without having a school email account as well as accessible remotely from your house. Features how to cite sources, has links to periodicals and web sites on topic.
A Gale Thompson InfoTrac product that has a clear search and discovery home page. It is great for middle school subjects and assignments. Includes photos, magazine articles, timelines, and clear info on citing sources.
CultureGrams This is a site that student's have used with good results in print editions. Now available for computers for geography, language and others classes to gather facts about customs and data on countries of the world. Includes World Edition, Kids Edition and States Edition.
CountryReports Another source for information about countries of the world. Learn about cultures, customs, holidays, national symbols, flags, economy, government and population with handy facts boxes or longer narrative reports.
