Library Media Center

The Library Media Center at the Gibbs School will be stocked by both donations and purchases of new books and resources.

All book donations can be made by bringing your books to the Book Rack here in town at 13 Medford Street (check their website www.book-rack.com/. The store owner will look over the books and credit the Gibbs account. The district will be able to use that credit to purchase books for the Library Media Center. If you wish to make a monetary donation you can do so with a check payable to, Arlington Public Schools, Memo: Gibbs library.

We are working with the Arlington High School librarian, OMS Media Center teachers and OMS teachers to ensure that we have books appropriate for the variety of readers, subject area and research we will have at Gibbs.

There will be a lot help needed during August to unpack and shelve the donated books as well as organizing the library. During the school year it would be fantastic to have a small crew of trusted parents who could help with processing the new books and purchasing (labelling, barcoding and covering books).

It is our hope that the Gibbs Library Media Center will be the heart of the school and students should enjoy being in that space.

Your help will be much appreciated.
