School Council

School council is a group with the same numbers of teachers and parents that meet at least four
times in the school year. Our council will begin in January this year. The purpose is to be the
keepers of items on the School Improvement Plan (SIP). The SIP is designed to align with the
larger District goals. Each item for our school under each district goal is directly related to an
initiative at our school. As our school is brand new, many of the items on our SIP will represent
our new initiatives, providing professional development for these initiatives and planning around sustaining these initiatives. Of course this year we will also be looking for feedback around student
and parent community experience. Please look forward to a school council election in early January. The SIP will be posted prior to the election for viewing.
