Meet Our Staff

Todd Morse (Mr. Morse) founded and has been running the Hardy After-School Program since its inception in 2001. He studied forestry at the University of Vermont before spending two years in Madagascar volunteering with Peace Corps. After returning to the U.S., Todd climbed for a tree company before beginning his Master Degree in Elementary Education at Lesley College. He worked at an after-school program in Reading before beginning the program here at Hardy. Todd has a wife and daughter and lives in Arlington. One of his favorite activities in after-school is when he teaches rock climbing and high ropes course skills to the 4th and 5th graders. He looks forward to accompany the 5th graders each year on their Science Camp trip to RI.

Stephanie Ho (Ms. Ho) graduated from SUNY College at Cortland with a B.S. in P.E. While working as a personal trainer at the West Suburban YMCA in Newton she also was a part of the Live Y’er’s after-school program. Thus began her love of after-school programs and has worked for the last 16 school years in both public and private programs as a teacher, Assistant Director, and Director. She recently came from The Rashi School in Newton as a 3rd grade Assistant Teacher and the Extended Day Director. She enjoys doing many outdoor activities such as going to the beach, hiking, biking, downhill skiing, hockey, kayaking, canoeing and loves to listen to live music bands, dance, and travel.

Jen Davis (Ms. Davis) Ms. Davis is happy to be back for her fourth school year at HASP. During the day she teaches in Mrs. Trivino 4th grade classroom. At the end of the day she loves coming down to after-school to throw around a football, help with homework or computer tech, or simply sketch next to a child in art class. Her favorite children’s books are the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series and The Phantom Tollbooth. Ms. Davis graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Theatre Education and is currently getting her MA in Elementary Education at Cambridge College. When school is not in session she can be found teaching drama and movement classes at the ACA and the Munroe or just enjoying all that Boston has to offer.

Kim Nigro (Ms. Kim) will be leading Hasps Art program. Kim was a resident artist from North Carolina where she taught children mural painting projects. She holds a Master's degree from Cambridge College and a BA degree in Fine art from Chamberlayne School of Design. Kim was also an Americorps member for Save the Children where she worked with children making art, and made bookmarks that were shipped to schools world wide. Kim hope to explore different techniques used in art with the children, and have them discover art and expression.

Chad Gray (Mr. Chad) is our newest addition to the HASP and will be working as the art assistant teacher. He was born and raised in Wayland, MA. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2005. He has held jobs in a variety of fields including retail management, marketing and corporate accounting.  For the past three years he has worked nights, weekends and summers at a local swim and tennis club as a lifeguard and camp counselor. In May 2011, he earned a second Bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Art Studio with a concentration in Art Education and a minor in Art 5-12. He is a high-energy licensed art teacher who enjoys traveling, playing and watching sports and of course art.

Ad Walker (Mr. Ad) is excited to be joining HASP as the History Aide this year.  After receiving a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University, Ad has returned to his home town of Boston to pursue his love of teaching.  For the past seven years, Ad has worked with children of all ages on farms and gardens around New England, predominantly at Farm & Wilderness Camps in Plymouth, VT, where he developed garden programming and led campers on overnight trips. When not in the classroom, Ad can be found hiking, biking, or lost in a book somewhere.  He is excited to be working with Mr. Andy and can't wait to explore all the incredible stories of the past with the students at HASP!

Ben Ostrow (Mr. Ben) is the new lead gym teacher at HASP, and in his first year on the Hardy After School staff.  Before coming to Arlington, Ben worked for three summers at Running Brook Day Camp in Waltham, where he knew several Hardy students as campers!  He recently graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in politics and philosophy.  This year will be spent figuring out whether he pursues a law degree or more likely, a career in education.  As much as he loves studying, Ben prefers being outdoors, playing games with kids, and playing sports, particularly basketball and baseball.  He is proud to call himself a three-time champion of the surprisingly competitive intramural wiffleball league at Brandeis, and was voted the biggest Red Sox fan by his senior year high school class.  He is very excited to team with Luis and lead the gym program at HASP.

Luis Salas (Mr. Luis) is our new Gym Assistant at the after school program. He is originally from Queens, New York but has lived all over the country including California, Texas, Florida and New Jersey. Mr. Luis has lived in Massachusetts over the last 8 years and has worked with children, individuals with special needs, teenage boys in crisis as well as the elderly in a variety of capacities and settings. Mr. Luis is pursuing his bachelor’s degree with a double major in special ed as well as counseling.

Jen Flores (Ms Jen) is a “California transplant” and also a veteran of the HASP. Returning after a two year absence, she holds a B.S. and MSAE from San Jose State and the Massachusetts College of Art. She has a micro business of clothing design. Aside from designing and sewing Jen also does mix media artwork. Jen will be teaching Community Service with Mona. “I am excited to be back at Hardy and to develop this new program for the after school!”

Mona Haraidi, (Ms Mona) a veteran member of the Hardy After School staff, grew up in Egypt in a small town called Damanhar. “Ms. Mona” is a mother with one daughter who attends high school in Arlington. In Egypt, Mona studied administration for two years after high school. She has lived in the United States for 15 years and also has lived in Santa Fe, N.M., as well as Massachusetts. She also teaches K-3 during the day at the Hardy School. She worked at Harvard Medical this past summer and cant wait to embark her new knowledge on the students. Ms. Luberice graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry at UMass Boston. She is definite science nerd who loves fashion! She really enjoys traveling the world and both playing and watching sports. Ms. Luberice has visited Australia every year since 2007. It is her home away from home. She can’t wait to go back and spend some time there soon. In the meantime she is looking forward this school year and putting together something special for the students, parents, and staff.

Rose Deng (Ms. Rose) received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Hamilton College.  During college, she conducted research in the nanotechnology and optics field.   She has enjoyed coaching kids in various sports and looks to forward to combining her love of science and instructing as the new assistant science teacher.  Outside of the classroom Ms. Rose likes to stay active and play sports such as rugby, lacrosse, and snowboarding.
