Transportation Policy For Snow Days and Delayed Openings

Inclement Weather Policy

NOTE: School closings and delays are posted on the Arlington Public Schools District Website Homepage.

The procedure followed by Arlington Public Schools is as follows:

No School:

Telephone tree or round robin for staff.

No school signals as follows:

7:00 a.m.:  A no-school signal is sounded by town, meaning no sessions at middle and high schools

7:30 a.m.:  A second no-school signal means no sessions for the elementary schools.

Delayed Opening:

School Time:
Elementary (grades K-5), 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Morning kindergarten, 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Middle school, 9 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.
High school, 9 a.m. to 2:26 p.m.

All classes begin one hour later; dismissal time remains the same (lunch is served).

Two hours. Telephone tree or round robin for staff. No signal

School time:
Elementary (grades K-5),10:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Morning kindergarten (half-day session): NO SCHOOL
Middle school,10 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.
High school,10 a.m. to 2:26 p.m.

All classes begin two hours later; dismissal time remains the same (lunch is served).
Only change is NO HALF-DAY AM KINDERGARTEN.

NOTE: On a no-school day, supervisory staff will not be available. On a delayed-opening day, supervisory staff will be available one or two hours later, depending on the delay.

PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ALWAYS ADVISED AS TO ATTENDANCE IN INCLEMENT WEATHER.
