About SEPAC (Blue) offers general information on all things SEPAC. Contrary to a
note I read recently on a local blog, we are not a covert arm of the school committee
secreting away funds. We are all volunteer parents who received some money from
the PTO to spend on workshops for parents of children with special needs, we’ve also
purchased books on special needs and donated them to Robbins Library. The District
kindly paid for a membership to MassPac, a great source of information we disperse
to Arlington Parents via this site.
About Special Education (Red) is all about Special Education, the laws and regulations,
as well as policies and procedures in Arlington, as we become aware of them along
with helpful links and quick references like timelines.
Resources (Green) Start at the Info to Know page to review general information and
find out resources available to all. This includes insurance information, support
groups, links to helpful agencies and gives tips from parents on how to approach
a new diagnosis. You will also find parent recommended links under specific disabilities.
Other pages in the green area offer introductory information about some of the related
services and common issues of children with special needs.
About “Parent/Guardian”. Throughout the site you may note that the term “Parent”
is usually used as opposed to “Parent/Guardian”. Please do not take offence, it
is simply for expediency sake - I am not a great typist and I really dislike the
slash button(I don’t have coordinated pinkies).
