Course Descriptions - Design

INTERIOR DESIGN I

Course Description: Explore the field of Interior Design and learn how to use space, color, and design to create beautiful environments. Through the use of computerized design programs and traditional design techniques, plan and decorate your own rooms and enjoy your creative side. Have fun, be creative, and find out if this is a career option for you.

This course meets for a half year, 6 out of 7 blocks per rotation. Students taking this course also take Fashion Design for the other half of the year. Five credits are given for both courses (2.5 each).

Essential Questions

  • How can creativity be developed?
  • How is creativity important for personal development and fulfillment?
  • How do we create an environment that is well designed, functional, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing?
