Course Descriptions - Grades 9-12


Course Description: This course is an introduction to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The four themes of the course are: (1) Exploring data, observing and describing patterns, as well as, departure from patterns; (2) Planning a study; deciding what and how to measure; (3) Anticipating patterns, producing models using probability theory and simulation; and, (4) Making statistical inferences and confirming models.
