Introduction

In an effort to inform parents and guardians about the standards Arlington Educators use to develop specific learning objectives in each one of the core content areas, this page has been created to include family guides developed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Each guide gives an overview of the essential standards that are covered for each grade by presenting the focus for instruction and what students will be able to accomplish at the end of the grade level. The high school family guide takes a different form by giving an overview of what students will learn over their entire high school career. Also included in each guide are prompts that can be used to generate a discussion about the various topics students cover in class. If you have questions about a specific lesson or concept, please contact your child’s teacher or building administrator.
