WELCOME TO ARLINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS GRADE 1-12 REGISTRATION

 

 

Grade 1 - 12 registration for 2025-2026 school year is now open.

To be eligible for First grade registration, your child must be 6 years old on or before August 31, 2025 of the enrolling school year. 

 

Registration for the current 2024-2025 school year is ongoing.

To be eligible for First grade registration, your child must be 6 years old on or before August 31, 2024 of the enrolling school year. 

Grade 1-12 Registration Process
 
  • Steps on how to register a new or returning student entering Grade 1 - Grade 12 are outlined below.
  • A new student is one that is entering from another school district and has not previously attended APS.
  • A returning student is one who previously attended APS and is now returning to APS.
 
Students in grades K-12 already attending the Arlington Public Schools DO NOT need to re-register.

Step 1: Verify Residency and Eligibility

 

 

To enroll in Arlington Public Schools, students and their parents/guardians must reside in the Town of Arlington. Children must be 6 years old on or before August 31 of the enrolling school year to be eligible for First grade.

Step 2: Gathering required documents

 

 

The registration process is online. Parents/guardians must upload all required documents for each new student enrolling in Arlington Public Schools through the PowerSchool Registration Portal. It is recommended to gather the necessary documents before beginning the online registration process.

We ask that all documents be fully translated into English. Translations should be completed by a professional translator before submitting the online registration.

Step3: Access the PowerSchool Registration Portal to Begin Registration
 

 

 

New Family:

If you are new to Arlington Public Schools, you will need to create an account on the PowerSchool Registration Portal (select "Create Account" to begin) to access the online registration forms. The account you create will be used throughout your student’s time at Arlington Public Schools.


Existing Families:

If you already have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, please sign in using your existing username and password to complete the registration for your new student.

*We recommend using a computer or tablet for the online registration process, as mobile devices may present challenges.


The online registration process allows parents/guardians to save their application and complete it later. Additionally, any required fields left incomplete will prevent progress in the registration process. Your application is not complete until ALL documents have been submitted..


Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation notification from the PowerSchool Enrollment Portal.

Step 4: Receive Student’s Registration Approval Letter (Welcome Letter
)

 

 

Once a student’s registration is fully submitted, the registration staff will review the application. After approval, you will receive a confirmation email. For families in a Buffer Zone, a notification will be sent regarding the assigned school.

Step 5: Attend Kindergarten Orientation & Screening

 

 

Kindergarten orientations and screenings have concluded in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year.


Kindergarten orientation for all families will be held at all elementary schools in late May.


Kindergarten screening will take place in June.
