OMS students circulated through ten stations, each manned by volunteer hosts who shared information, answered questions about their heritage countries, and engaged the attendees in activities.

Students in all grade levels had the opportunity to view, discuss, and think about book illustrations, the artists that create them, and how pictures contribute to the story before voting for the book they believed deserved the coveted Caldecott Medal Award.

Spending a morning learning about the academic environment and choices, asking questions, touring the building, and experiencing possible electives through classroom visits helps to ease the stress anxiety of moving to a new school and gets eighth grade students ready to choose the classes they will take in the ninth grade.

Workshops, clinics, and rehearsals precede performances in Carnegie Hall for Arlington High School vocalists and instrumentalists at the Choirs of America “Nationals for Top Choirs” Festival in April.
