Social Emotional Learning & School Counseling

Our Vision

In alignment with the district’s vision, the vision for social emotional learning (SEL) in the Arlington Public Schools is to foster and nurture a school community where student health and wellness, sense of belonging, equity, and opportunities for growth and joy are at the center of how we work with students, families, and fellow educators.

Mission

The mission of the SEL and Counseling Department is to create, sustain, and nurture student growth by developing and maintaining a comprehensive system of mental health & wellbeing supports built on the five core standards of social emotional learning and to ensure that students have access to supports and resources for their social and emotional development and mental health and wellbeing, and to include and empower educators and families to partner with us in this pursuit.
