SNAP Health Portal

The SNAP Health Portal is currently available at the preschool, elementary, grade 6, and grade 7 levels.

Check back here for updates on the launch dates for Ottoson (Grade 8), and the high school.

On behalf of the Arlington Public Schools Nursing Team, we are excited to introduce to you the SNAP Health Portal. SNAP is the electronic health record software that the APS nursing team uses to document all of our interactions with students. Similar to PowerSchool being students’ educational portal, SNAP serves as their electronic school health record.

In August 2023, the Bishop and Gibbs Schools began to pilot the SNAP Health Portal. They have reported great success with their rollout, with about 93% of families enrolling and using the portal. After the initial pilot, the district is now rolling out the portal at additional schools, with district-wide implementation planned for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

Why would you want to enroll in the SNAP Health Portal?
  • Easy to communicate directly with your student's school nurse
  • Easy to update permissions for over-the-counter medications to be given at school, in accordance with the district's standing medication orders
  • Easy to upload physicals, doctor's notes, and medication orders
  • Easy to update your student's health conditions
  • Receive automatic communications when medications need to be refilled or replaced
  • No more updating your student's health information in PowerSchool
  • It will make your school nurse very happy 🙂

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in keeping our students healthy and well.
